I go back to working a couple days a week starting next week, so I took Sophie to her nanny today for the first time. Liz is wonderful, and we're fortunate to get to share her with
our friends Damon & Kathryn (Avery's parents - who is Sophie's BFF). They did all the work in finding her, and we're lucky enough to get to use her Tuesdays and occasional Wednesdays while I'm working.
I took her over to Damon & Kathryn's house today around lunch, and Sophie was her usual self: smiley, until she wanted something, then she wanted it RIGHT THEN. I think it will be good for Sophie to learn patience (I think babies can learn patience at this age... right?) by having to wait until Liz is done with Avery before she gets something she wants. I am very excited about the girls being able to grow and learn together, and Liz is very good with both of them. She has nannied for twins in the past, so she's used to having two at the same age, which is very reassuring.
I admit though - after I left the house, I cried a little. Not because I was nervous about leaving her, but because it's the end of me getting to be at home with Sophie all the time. I am so excited to be in a classroom again, but I am loving this age, and I love being with her. But it's good for me to work, and it will make me appreciate my time with Sophie that much more.
