Child-proofing = moving... again and again

So we just got home last week from Minnesota, and because Sophie is so mobile, we're fast realizing our apartment needed to be child-proofed, and rearranged. So Jeff and I have been on a tear this weekend moving furniture, packing up all the "infant" things, and generally organizing and cleaning. It feels like we're moving again, because the house is in uproar, and we're just trying to find enough storage for everything.

I've always been a rather clean person, I like to have a neat and nice-smelling house. But I'll admit that I cleaned the bathroom floor and kitchen floor less often than probably the ideal before. Mopping wasn't my favorite thing - I hated using the cleaner. Now, I'm super motivated to mop, because Sophie is all over it, picks up everything from it, and of course drops her food all over it daily. I got a cleaner that I am finally comfortable with (Earthbath) and a mop that doesn't gross me out (Method's microfiber mop head... I just get on my hands and knees and scrub - no handle). I'm not paranoid about germs for Sophie, more I feel badly that she would crawl around on a sticky or dirty floor when I can do something about it.

The other thing Jeff and I have finally gotten done is getting a darker shade on Sophie's window. It's been something that's bothered us for months. I also finally got around to getting a skirt for her crib, and we put the bumper back on, and we bought a shelf to display some of the very cute things she's been given as gifts, so her room really looks very cute now. It actually looks like a nursery, instead of graduate-student housing.
