Super-Mommy Day

Jeff was out of town for a night and day, so I had Sophie all to myself. After sleeping in (YES!) we had breakfast together, and walked over to the farmer's market. I love going to the FM because it makes me feel like a super mom. I show Sophie different fruits and veggies and offer her a choice of getting one or another, she arbitrarily picks one, I say "great choice!" and buy it, and by-standers ooh and aah at my amazing relationship with my incredibly intelligent and nutritiously-minded child. It's awesome. Never mind the fact that the pea pods that Soph picked out and I served her for lunch went on the floor... we'll just skim over that part.
After her nap, we went for another walk (when Jeff's out of town, the main goal is to wear her out) at the Berkeley Marina. Sophie made sure I noticed every dog and kite flying, and we brought home a wonderful memento of our afternoon - a dirt clod. I always stress a little when Jeff goes, wondering if I'll be able to handle it all while he's gone, then it seems like those are my favorite times with Sophie.
